Exotic animals are beautiful in nature. They capture the eye and ignite the imaginations of humans all around the globe. Unfortunately, they also attract the eye of people who want to make a profit, collect trophies or just love hunting.

Poaching is still a big problem in the world. Entire species have been driven to near extinction because of human greed. While hunting certain species within season is perfectly legal, others seek means to hunt out of season or use illegal weapons to capture their game.

Hunting is legal for many reasons. It helps to keep a specific animal population under control. It also helps industries associated with hunting thrive, including car sales, hotel accommodations, fuel sales and others. It helps humans to break out of their normal routine and commune with nature and to stock up on food for a period of time.

Other though, poach. That is to say they hunt illegally. Poachers aren’t always the exotic tales we hear about, going after elephant or bear or tigers. They can be an otherwise harmless human hunting out of season, using illegal weapons or hunting a species that isn’t allowed to be killed.

People all over the world have the ability to report poachers. By knowing the signs of a poacher and the proper authorities to contact will help animals all over the world to regain their numbers and grow back to where they need to be.
