The Holy Cow Just Became Holier When You Realized Its Importance

The Holy Cow Just Became Holier When You Realized Its Importance

Cows are raised in farms and farmhouses all over the world for their milk, meat and leather. The cow is even worshipped as a god in India. There is a controversial debate on banning cow-slaughter in India.

On an average, there are about 1.5 million cows in the world. Most of them are owned by farmers who keep them in cow sheds with 40-50 other cows. They often find themselves harnessed behind ploughs and carts. They graze the grasslands and fields. They are valuable sources of fuel for their dung can be burnt to create energy. It is also used as manure for rearing crops and plants.

Cows were denominations of wealth in the days gone by and were often looted and robbed. An English tale says cows always sit down whenever it is going to rain, but there is no scientific logic behind this.

Cows are often interbred with other kinds of cows to rear cows that are able to bear a healthy progeny, give nutritious and enough milk, and provide good value when slaughtered. Cows usually have horns on their heads, and it is only through genetic modification that species without horns have been reared. They are infamous for the ability to regurgitate their food.
Cows fed on a diet of grass are believed to have a higher quality of milk in their udders. It is much richer when it comes to omega-3 fats, and vitamin E. Cows fed on grass are more likely to yield milk rich in beta-carotene and CLA.
