Top Three Reasons to Adopt a Shelter Animal in 2015

Top Three Reasons to Adopt a Shelter Animal in 2015

Having a pet is like boasting of a forgiving and loving companion for years to come. If you have long thinking of buying a dog, make time to visit a shelter this year, to find the needy pets for adoption. Check these real reasons why adopting from shelters is worth it.

Saving a happy soul
Shelter pets often have bumpy backgrounds, abusive owners, and negligent backgrounds behind them. These animals are in need of care, love and petting. Saving an animal is like saving a life, as you will be surprised at the number of shelter animals put down every year, simply because they found no home.

Stop supporting puppy mills
Sadly, dog and animal breeding is unethical and done in backyards minus any monitoring. The puppy you will buy comes from parents who have been bred for years, without any medical care. Puppy mills have been an issue that many animal welfare organizations have raise voice about.

Plenty of choices
Let’s not get shallow saying that adopting is better than buying because you save money. Apart from what you save, you will actually find many choices in most shelters. From mutts, pure-bred dogs, to kittens, puppies and adult animals, the options are huge.

While all the above positives are on one side, it is also creditable to mention that adopting grownup pets needs some consideration. Always discuss with the shelter people on your home atmosphere (especially if you patients, children or old parents), and they can help you pick a soul that can fit in the surroundings.
