Get To Know Some Points About Lions Before You Venture Out Into The Jungle

The jungle is where animals live, and animals are believed to be devoid of a social system. But there is a king in place. The lion  is probably the most powerful and strongest animal in the jungle. Its dominance over the jungle is known to be quite a strong one. But a lion is as social as a human being. It lives in groups called pride. This feature helps individual lions tide over tough times. Young lion cubs need some special protection that is easily provided by the group.

Lions are usually believed to be brave and courageous. The manes that are typical to male lions is believed to be symbolic of the courage of a lion. Only male lions are gifted with a mane. The logic behind it is probably that it serves to attract lionesses. The females in the pride do all the hunting that is to be done. The males merely serve to protect the pride from external interference.

The diet of a typical lion is known to be buffaloes, gazelles, deer and wilder beasts. Lions are even known to prey on elephants in some parts of Africa.

It is a huge compliment to a soldier if he is compared to a lion while in the battle-field. A lion's aggressiveness is believed to be incomparable.

Lions are not known to tolerate competition. They are known to attack and kill other predators that hunt the same animals. Animals like hyenas and leopards might find themselves as the prey of lions if they happen to enter the lion territory.
