Reptile or amphibian as a pet ?

Reptile or amphibian as a pet ?

People who have pets, usually have cats, dogs, fish, etc. The questions is - Is it weird or not to choose reptile or amphibian as a pet, and if you decide to do that, what do you have to know first ?

Reptiles and amphibians are beautiful and exotic, there are so many different species, and they are pretty adaptable, ( not all of them of course ) but before you decide to have one as a pet, you should think first - are you taking them because you really want them, and you wanna take a good care of them, or are you taking them because they are exotic and interesting ?

What you should know, before making any decision is what kind of food you need to provide for them, and if your conditions are good enough for them.

Reptiles and amphibians who were in some kind of captivity, are more adaptable and they are pretty easy to " handle ".

If you have all the necessary conditions, and you decide to buy one, the best place for you to find them is in the pet stores, and also if it's legal, you can bring them from the wilderness.

You can also find them on the internet, or you can visit an exhibition. You have exhibitions in Europe and in the USA, almost every weekend. Even if you don't want to buy them, you should go there in case you want to discover other species, or simply meet their owners.

Prices may vary, but you can find affordable ones, but simply before you buy them, find out more about their history, conditions they live in, potential health problems, etc.
